Works to heat and cool rooms without ducts, allowing multiple indoor units to connect to one outdoor unit for versatile comfort.
A ductless heat pump, or mini-split heat pump, offers an efficient solution for heating and cooling spaces without ductwork. Unlike traditional systems that rely on ducts, these units are installed directly in the rooms they serve, making them ideal for areas where duct installation is impractical.
Ductless heat pumps perform both heating and cooling through a process of heat transfer. When in heating mode, they extract heat from outside air, which is then transferred indoors. In cooling mode, the system reverses, removing heat from the home and releasing it outdoors. This transfer of heat is facilitated by refrigerant, which cycles through pipes connecting the indoor and outdoor units.
Ductless systems can be wall-mounted, floor-mounted, or even ceiling-mounted, allowing flexible placement within your home.
Ductless heat pump installation is generally completed within a day by our licensed HVAC technician, who will install the outdoor unit first, followed by drilling small holes for each indoor unit. Once set up, your system is ready to use. Be sure to schedule regular maintenance to prolong system lifespan, which typically ranges from 15 to 30 years.
